nDimensional technology is being used to reduce the costs insurance companies incur and improve the services provided. To meet the rising demand for imaging examinations, prevent diagnostic errors and sustain productivity improvements, AI is being leveraged to provide faster authorization for radiology services without sacrificing accuracy.
Solution: Classification models are being used to determine whether radiological procedures (such as MRIs) are warranted given the location on the body and other data. Over 100 different prediction models have been developed using patient records. The resulting models provide an error rate as low as 1%. Using these models, the response time for most insurance authorizations has improved to minutes, which reduces the internal cost for the insurance companies and is streamlining patient care.
