nDimensional technology was used by large educational institutions with overloaded resources to efficiently allocate budget and staff to yield the greatest impact for their students. With an objective to improve the outcomes for students enrolled in developmental courses, predicting which students are most at risk is an effective way to maximize limited resources.
Solution: In order to classify high-risk students, prediction models were built. By taking input factors such as learning styles, responses to questionnaires, high school GPA and standardized test scores, students can be accurately classified as potentially being at risk. Students identified as “at risk” are then placed into a support protocol which addresses issues of frustration tolerance, test anxiety, and much more. Students who have entered this support program have shown an increase in academic success by 8% already. The more educational organizations can use prediction models, the more proactive and impactful they can be.
