| Activation
components consist of the Axon and Synapse families. The
Axon family implements common variations on the nonlinear
instantaneous maps employed by neural models. Each axon
represents a layer, or vector, of processing elements
(PEs). The Synapse family implements the dynamic linear
mapping characteristics of the neuron. Each synapse
operates between two axons; it will receive input from,
and provide output to, components belonging to the Axon
family. Customizing any of these components for supervised learning requires the creation of a DLL for both the activation component and the corresponding backprop dual. The responsibility of the backprop component is to compute the gradients and sensitivities for the attached activation component. Axon DLLs Synapse DLLs |
