Application Description

A. Automatic grading of sawn lumber (imitation of human grader decision). Entire grading system (NeuroSorter) contains vision system, image processing, neural net training and grading module. It has been installed as a test prototype in May '95. Test were presented on International Scanning Technology Conference in Atlanta, GA, 1993 and in Vancouver, BC in 1996. Copies of papers are available on request. NeuroSolution system was utilized as a trial platform for determining the net parameters. The on-line system was written on another basis.

B. Classifying of wood defects (mostly knots). This is typical pattern recognition problem. This work was a part of NeuroSorte system development.

C. Reconstruction of log's internal structure on the base of computer tomograph images. The problem is to limit number of on/line images and reconstruct the rest by means of n_net processing. Most actual problem on this list. In this very case I plan to utilize NeuroSolution as a complete developing platform, therefore professional version is necessary.
